Grace Story


Thank you for submitting your grace story in preparation for baptism! We are excited to walk alongside you as you pursue baptism. Submitting this form is a beginning step in the baptism process. After completing this form, a leader from The Chapel will follow up with you to discuss next steps, answer any questions, and guide you through the final steps of baptism.

Please answer the following questions in 1-2 sentences. If you have already written your condensed grace story (no longer than 90 seconds) in Begin, you can attach your Word Document below.

Whether you grew up in a home that introduced you to Jesus, or you came to know Him later in life, describe how you were led to a relationship with Jesus. Start your sentence with... Before I had a personal relationship with Jesusā€¦ (Please limit your response to two sentences)

Describe when you committed your life to Jesus? Was it at a service? With your parents? At an event? The Word helps us to understand that we need a savior. What scripture has encouraged you to surrender? Start your sentence with... I realized I need a Savior and placed my faith in Jesus whenā€¦ (Please limit your response to two sentences)

In your own words, write out the Gospel. What is the good news of Jesus Christ? Why is it good news for you personally?

Share the scripture that inspired your reason for being baptized. (for example read Colossians 2:12-14) Start your sentence with... I want to be baptized becauseā€¦

Throughout Begin, you have had the opportunity to work on your Grace Story within the weekly workbooks. As discussed, your grace story is your personal testimony of how you came to believe in Christ, what God has done in your life, and how you were changed by His grace.

The questions above may be used as a template. During your baptism, we ask that you share with the church a condensed version of your grace story. Please use paragraph format. The questions will not be prompted, so we ask that you use full sentences. In consideration of time, please keep it to 90 seconds. Be sure to add in why you want to be baptized!
